Another (nastier side effect) is psychosis. But there’s good news for those who suffer. Because last year, this tiny biotech outfit successfully completed a pivotal Phase III trial for a breakthrough drug that treats PD psychosis symptoms.
“Shares in [the biotech] have skyrocketed after the Food and Drug Administration took the unusual step of telling the US firm that existing data is sufficient to file [the drug] to treat Parkinson’s disease psychosis.”
“An open-label extension study has further demonstrated that [the drug] is safe and well-tolerated with long-term use. [The drug] may therefore offer a viable treatment option for patients suffering from PDP [Parkinson's disease psychosis].”
Which means, the FDA wants to expedite the development and review of this drug. Because the drug proved itself effective enough to treat the serious symptoms of PD psychosis… without… causing additional side effects.
